Kington Show will be held again at the picturesque site of The Ovals Farm, Kington, in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, possibly the last remaining one-day livestock show in Herefordshire.
A traditional agricultural show with Horses, Cattle, Sheep & Poultry classes culminating with a Grand Parade of Livestock. There will be Dog and Horticultural classes together with Young Farmers and Shearing competitions. There will be something for everyone, even an after show dance. The Carcase
Competition has been a huge success with many of the carcases being auctioned for sale later on in the day, and there will be someone on hand to butcher the carcase into smaller joints.
There will be nearly 200 trade stands at the event, with many local producers, arts and crafts, food, tools, toys, clothes, tractors to name just a few!
KINGTON SHOW TO PROVIDE
A CHARITABLE GRANT SCHEME FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
This year Kington Show will make available limited funds to make grants of up to £1000 and can be divided between a number of applicants to assist in the furtherance of agriculture, science and research in connection with agriculture and rural industries, demonstrations, education, rural crafts, conservation and promotion of co-operation between rural and urban communities.
The criteria for the grants are for individuals aged 16-26 years of age and to be a resident within a distance of 25 miles from Kington town clock.

Applications will close on 31st July, 2014 and the grant/s will be awarded on show day, Saturday 13th September, 2014.
For 2013, £500 was awarded to Beth Hanson, from Dilwyn. From a farming family who is studying a BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM) course at Harper Adams University. The grant will be going towards Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) Student Member for the forthcoming year. The CAAV publish professional advice for their members on issues affecting the countryside. The CAAV also organise events to provide opportunities to gain advice on changing issues effecting Rural Chartered Surveyors and landowners. It will also be put towards the most recent publications of books for studying the course.

The society has again organised Event Mobility to attend, where they will provide powered wheelchairs and electric scooters for the use of disabled, elderly and mobility impaired visitors to the show. This has been achieved by a grant very kindly received from Kington Town Council. Event Mobility is a charitable organisation and operates entirely from the generosity of donations.
